Cromford canal. A summer walk
The main road leaving Steeple Claydon in Buckinghamshire

James Hawksley is an artist based in Nottinghamshire who has been painting for over 15 years. After studying at art college James started his art career by experimenting with watercolours, acrylics and finally oils and is now highly adept in all forms of painting mediums. He specialises in a number of genres including landscapes, reproductions, portraits and historic houses as part of his varied portfolio, with the majority of his commissions coming from word of mouth recommendations.

Interested in classical paintings from an early age James has always had a strong love of history and a fascination with the works of the old masters including Van Dyke, Gainsborough and Romney. Not many artists concentrate on this line of work; however James believes that the work and the expertise of these masters should be accessible to everyone.
